Hi
All!
You
can currently see me playing out with the following bands/projects:
The Blackberry Bushes (Americana, Bluegrass)
The Blackberry Bushes Stringband is a high energy,
soulful, Americana quartet. The “Bushes” are
a band of songwriters with a strong Bluegrass and old-time
bend. They have remained loyal to their Ozark, Appalachian,
and Mississippi River roots and added just a twist of
West coast indie-rock. They tour nationally, and feature:
quick pickin’ banjo songstress: Kendl Winter, singer-songwriter-strummer-stomper:
Jes Raymond on guitar, rattlesnake fiddler: Jakob Breitbach
and lowdown songsmith: Joe Capoccia on the upright bass.
They are often noted for their sweet harmonies, darling
lyrics, and virtuosic musicianship. Their songs are instant
classics, and their performances are guaranteed to turn
heads and move an audience.

Jack Dwyer and Tim Connell (world folk,
jazz, Americana)
Jack teams up with fellow Portland mandolinist and Lewis
and Clark adjuct faculty member Tim Connell to present
a truly mandocentric worldview: the world's music on sixteen
strings. The set typically includes music from Ireland,
Brazil, the Appalachians, Africa and the African Diaspora,
Greece, The Jewish Diaspora, and the Balkans.

Terracoustic (New Acoustic, bluegrass,
jazz, Celtic)
Featuring Ben Blechman on six-string fiddle,
Bryan Owens on acoustic guitar, Jack Dwyer on mandolin,
and John Van Beek on upright bass, Terracoustic performs
upbeat and original stringband music. Each member contributes
entertaining and wideranging compositions that delight
the ears of newgrass, bluegrass, celtic, old-time, and
jam band fans alike. The band found it's latest incarnation
in the spring of 2010 and is starting to gain notice around
the Portland area.
